Explore Programs HereProduct Description
Across the University’s museums, galleries and collections we provide a variety of pathways for primary and secondary students to engage in exciting transdisciplinary education programs. Experienced staff centre the student experience within the exhibitions and collections, sparking scientific and artistic enquiry and fostering the development of transferable 21st Century skills.
BUXTON CONTEMPORARY offers learning experiences connected to its changing exhibition program, inspired by the Buxton Collection of Australian art. Schools are encouraged to book into our exhibition tours, delivered by practicing artists and emerging curators, with a wealth of online resources available for pre and post-visit engagement.
SCIENCE GALLERY MELBOURNE exhibitions, tours, and hands-on STEAM workshops immerse school students in future-focused exhibition themes, cutting edge contemporary art practices, scientific research and emerging technologies. SGM exhibitions and programs provoke critical thinking, and foster an inclusive and participatory space for curiosity, connection and creativity.
POTTER MUSEUM OF ART will reopen in 2025. The Potter’s redesign will feature purpose-built learning spaces in the heart of the museum. The schools programs will cater to upper-primary and secondary students, offering unique learning experiences closely connected to our changing thematic exhibition program and permanent collections.
Learning Experiences engage students with UoM museums, galleries and collections through exhibition-focussed visits, tours and workshops, catering to visual art students in Years 7-10 and VCE.
