Chloe’s work uses visual means to explore the relationship between her mother and father. Realism, colour and tactile or implied Texture were the elements that Chloe used to frame her Studio Arts exploration. Coming from a moderate level of technical ability, Chloe pushed herself into achieving a successful outcome. Important tips offered by her for students are: that they should take a lot of their own photographs as this will provide great primary resource material and avoids any copyright issues; use your own photographs to provide support if you are not strong at drawing and if you want to consider a range of poses and light settings. Chloe found annotating hard at first and recommends: writing down everything about your folio’s progress; every little thought should be included; and do not leave annotating to the last minute as this will not produce quality annotations. Finally, Chloe shows how folio evaluations are so important in clarifying the direction of the final artworks.
