Art Education Victoria’s professional development program is tailored to support primary school teachers to meaningfully integrate visual arts and Cross Curricular Priorities (CCP) in their classroom.
About
The program includes comprehensive resource packages examining internationally renowned contemporary artists. First Nations artist and Yorta Yorta / Wamba Wamba / Mutti Mutti / Boonwurrung woman, Maree Clarke, is set to headline the inaugural program, sharing her unique insights into her practice, culture and the revitalisation of south-east Australian Aboriginal art and culture.
Designed to support both generalist primary school educators and primary school art educators, the program incorporates the Foundation to Year 6 Victorian visual arts curriculum and CCP. Downloadable resources and interactive opportunities are provided over the course of two years to ensure educators have a meaningful professional development experience and practical classroom resources.
The program will delve into the artworks and the artists’ practices as well as add voices from a sustainability perspective to provide a platform to explore topics related to the world around us. The voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists are one of many voices that will make up the VisualArts360 professional development program. Please note this program does not teach First Nations art-making techniques or specific protocols.

Program Schedule
The VisualArts360 program will grant participants access to pre-recorded video interviews exploring curriculum related topics, Q&A sessions hosted by ArtEdVic, and downloadable resources containing artist information, lesson plans and activities. We understand that educators have busy schedules, which is why the VisualArts360 program offers participants the option to engage with our resources at their own pace.
General Information
This program is designed for Years F-6 Primary School Art Educators and Generalist teachers.
ArtEdVic Members will receive discounted access.
Primary School Educators from low SFOE schools can participate for free.
Primary School Educators that identify as First Nations can participate for free.
