JOIN OUR BOARD

Joining the Art Education Victoria Board is a great way to grow yourself professionally while making a valuable contribution to the community. ArtEdVic is governed by a Board of elected volunteers with a diverse range of skills and experience from art education and beyond.

While serving as an ArtEdVic Board member, you will develop an understanding of the current state and priorities of art education in Victoria. You will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating products and programming, while exploring future growth opportunities for the organisation.

In helping ArtEdVic reach its strategic goals, you will develop professional networks as you assist in strengthening our partnerships and collaborate with the broader arts community. You will also have opportunities to contribute to the inspirational work that drives excellence in visual arts education.

Throughout your time with us, you will be empowered in becoming a leader in the arts and not for profit sectors as you increase your capacity through professional development and Board experience. While sharing the collective responsibility for the financial viability, legal compliance and strategic direction of Art Education Victoria (To find out more information about Board responsibilities of not for profit organisations visit Consumer Affairs Victoria).

Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting by members of ArtEdVic and are required to hold an individual membership with the organisation. In some circumstances, a Board member may be co-opted throughout a term by the Board if a position is vacant. Come be a part of a leading organisation with over sixty years of history in serving Victorians and contribute your vision and influence for a more aesthetic and creative Victoria.

Benefits of being a Board member also include

  • Free/at cost attendance at ArtEdVic professional development
  • Discounted attendance at ArtEdVic conferences
  • Professional Profile on the ArtEdVic website
