VisualArts360 Workshop
Join Art Education Victoria for the VisualArts360 workshop led by artist Jenna Lee. Designed to support primary school educators, this professional development session will explore meaningful ways to integrate visual arts and Cross-Curricular Priorities (CCP) into the classroom. Guided by Jenna, participants will learn paper-making techniques and explore how students can engage with her practice in ways that are sensitive to her culture and context.
About Jenna Lee
Jenna Lee is a Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman, and KarraJarri Saltwater woman with mixed Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, and Anglo-Australian (Irish and Scottish) ancestry. Jenna’s practice centres on exploring language, materiality, and the transformation of inherited narratives. Deeply intrigued by what is lost in translation, she explores the spaces between words – the felt but unseen – capturing the subtleties that surround language. Her work channels these overlooked nuances into immersive installations, works on paper, sculpture, and multimedia.
What to Expect
In this hands-on papermaking workshop and Q&A session, Jenna will guide participants through the process of making paper from recycled paper and found materials, discussing how this practice can be adapted for the primary school classroom.
This workshop is part of the VisualArts360 Professional Development Program. The cost of the ticket provides full access to the program’s resources including:
– Pre-recorded video interviews with artists exploring curriculum-aligned topics
– Live Q&A and workshop sessions hosted by Art Education Victoria
– Downloadable resources, including artist overviews, lesson plans, and classroom activities.
