Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS): Sequencing Artworks and the Stages of Aesthetic Development | MUMA
Catch up with colleagues and join experienced Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) trainer Carly Grace as she leads an inspiring end-of-year program at MUMA and our neighbouring gallery the Duldig Studio. VTS is a renowned inquiry based approach to experiencing art. It empowers students to discuss artworks with their peers and develop skills in observation, communication and speculation.
During this program we’ll take an in-depth look at the VTS methodology and its theoretical underpinnings, exploring how VTS can be used in various contexts. Participants will also take part in practical VTS sessions at MUMA and the Duldig Studio and have the opportunity to curate a selection of modern and contemporary artworks for their students guided by the stages of Aesthetic Development.
This workshop is designed to enhance the capacity of teachers who have undertaken VTS training and would like to refine and extend their skills / become a certified VTS facilitator. It is
also suitable for teachers who are new to VTS and would like to explore this
process in a supportive environment.
Cost: $50 (includes all resources, refreshments and lunch)
