WEAVING CONSTRUCTIVISM with Haily Tran
Saturday 9 September 2017, 9.30 – 1pm

Be inspired by the shapes, forms and colours of artworks at Heide to design your own Constructivist tapestry. In this half-day workshop participants will learn how to warp a loom, begin to weave, combine colours with different kinds of yarn fibre to complete a tapestry under the guidance of experienced teacher and tapestry - extraordinaire Haily from B is for Brian.

The program includes museum admission, workshop materials (Melbourne made timber loom set, yarns and needles), lesson plans for the classroom and refreshments from Café Heide.

SCULPTING CONSTRUCTIVISM with Raafat Ishak
Saturday 16 September, 9.30 – 1pm

Raafat works across a broad spectrum of disciplines from painting to sculpture, installation and site-specific drawing. His practice in each of these areas is underpinned by a creative exploration of architecture and his Arabic cultural heritage. This program includes two practical art making workshops focussing on drawing and construction. Guided by Raffat, participants will draw from the exhibition Call of the Avant-Grade: Constructivism and Australian Art and the Heide 2 modernist house to create a Constructivist inspired sculpture.  

The program includes museum admission, workshop materials, lesson plans for the classroom and refreshments from Café Heide.

PRINTING CONSTRUCTIVISM, screen printing workshop

Saturday 16 September, 2pm – 5.30pm

This program will develop the skills of beginner to advanced printmakers through a range of engaging tutorials. Taking inspiration from the exhibition Call of the Avant-Grade: Constructivism and Australian Art the afternoon will be spent exploring printmaking techniques and creating your own edition of Constructivist screen prints in the Heide Education Centre.

The program includes museum admission, workshop materials, lesson plans for the classroom and refreshments from Café Heide.
