SENSORY LEARNING IN THE VISUAL ARTS | HEIDE

SENSORY LEARNING IN THE VISUAL ARTS | HEIDE

Thursday, 22 June 2017, 9–3.30pm

Victorian teachers are required to build their capacity to teach learners with special needs. This program explores sensory learning and includes developmental learning activities that engage visual, auditory and vestibular senses. It supports teachers in achieving standards descriptors 1.6, 1.5 or 4.1 for their VIT registration.

Rich sensory experiences are fundamental to wellness and healthy development. This experiential workshop aims to bring awareness to attitudes and preconceptions of creativity. Teachers will gain skills to work with students with special needs, and indeed all students.

Rebecca Knaggs is a practicing artist, facilitator and passionate arts educator with diverse experience (including disability and mental health services) engaging people from all walks of life in their own unique form of creative self-expression.

Recommended for Visual Arts educators and generalist teachers of all year levels.
