VCE Studio Art forum—Geelong Contemporary Art Prize
$5 per student | 28 July 10.30am to 11.30am

A panel discussion exploring the 2022 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize exhibition, a signature event that showcases the diversity and excellence of Australian contemporary painting practice. An opportunity for students to learn from experts and develop an understanding of the organisation, preparation, presentation and conservation of the Gallery’s current exhibition.

Geelong Gallery Youth Council
1 July to 31 January

This exciting opportunity for young people aged 15 to 17 will support valuable learning experiences and an understanding of arts industry knowledge, operations and professional development through a specialised training program. Geelong Gallery’s Youth Council aims to connect and empower young people living in the community through engagement in the arts, training and well-being activities at the Gallery.

Year-round program

A 90-minute workshop incursion with a Gallery Educator exploring a key work from the Gallery’s permanent collection. All participating schools receive an artmaking kit that includes: an introductory video; an information resource on the artist and work; discussion questions; an art-making activity and art materials.

Explore Australian history through Geelong Gallery’s collection of early images of the Geelong region. Discover the evolution of the City of Greater Geelong and its environment. Through inquiry-based discussion and storytelling, students will view and discuss multiple perspectives on community histories, First contacts and Australia as a nation.
