3D CLAY PRINTING WITH ALTERFACT STUDIO | HEIDE MoMA

3D CLAY PRINTING WITH ALTERFACT STUDIO | HEIDE MoMA

Heide Education is excited to launch this Professional Development program, facilitated by the highly skilled and innovative artists of Alterfact Studio, in association with An Idea Needing to be Made: Contemporary Ceramics.

In this program you will design and print your own 3D clay objects. The workshop will cover digital design and clay printing, as well as a short history of 3D printing with clay. Alterfact artists will discuss open source and free access programs for designing digital 3D models; 3D scanning handmade models; the preparation of the model for printing, and the hardware required to print (the 3D printer itself). We will explore different types of clay, their preparation for printing; printing itself; and drying and handling the objects after they are printed. This workshop is suitable for teachers of all levels, and is highly suitable for teacher of VCE Studio Arts.

This PD will address the following standards as listed in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher registration in Victoria.
