Board Member - Rebecca Maclatchy

Rebecca Maclatchy is an arts educator and leader whose career covers both primary and secondary contexts (Years 3-12). Her work is grounded in curriculum, assessment and advocacy, with a focus on building collaborative professional cultures and strengthening the place of the Arts in schools and broader education communities.

Her teaching experience spans Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design and Design.

Rebecca’s work centres on designing coherent, knowledge-rich programs that balance creative agency with explicit teaching. She has led curriculum review and assessment refinement to support meaningful student engagement, and advocates for clarity, consistency and rigour in the Arts, while still allowing space for student voice and diverse ways of making and thinking.

Alongside her teaching and leadership, Rebecca maintains an active studio practice in ceramics and contemporary jewellery. Her work explores memory, materiality and digital representation, often intersecting with questions raised through her research.

Rebecca is currently undertaking postgraduate study in practice-led and speculative approaches to art education, exploring how curriculum, assessment and emerging technologies shape learning, and how these ideas can inform wider professional dialogue within the field.
