Board Member - Jimmy Pasakos

Course Coordinator | Bachelor of Visual Arts – Federation University

Pasakos currently serves as the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Visual Arts at Federation University Australia-Ballarat. He provides academic leadership and support to both students/staff, oversees the coordination and delivery of the program, contributes to course development, and ensures the maintenance of academic quality.

He holds a Master of Visual Arts, Monash University, a Graduate Diploma of Education (High School), Melbourne University and a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education, Federation University.

Pasakos teaches across multiple studio areas in the undergraduate program, which includes Printmaking, Drawing, Collaboration and Studio Practice. His focus is on curriculum development, assessment, and workshop delivery. He actively engages with the broader community (Creative Ballarat) through public workshops/exhibitions and engages with regional VCE Art schools, building strong connections between the university and the arts education sector.

Before entering academia, Pasakos worked as a Technical Event Manager. He led event operations, managed teams, coordinated large-scale events/projects at various venues across Melbourne and ensured successful client experiences/outcomes.

Pasakos brings integrity and dedication to Arts Education Victoria, combining his experience as a practising artist/educator and management skills. He promotes innovative curriculum and meaningful learning, with a strong focus on best teaching practices and community engagement to enrich student outcomes. An advocate for young emerging artists.

Pasakos is a professional practising artist, a former committee member for the Print Council of Australia and founder/convener for the Goldfields Printmakers.
