GOING PUBLIC & PRIVATE: ART INDUSTRY CONTEXTS | MUMA

GOING PUBLIC & PRIVATE: ART INDUSTRY CONTEXTS | MUMA

Hosted by MUMA and Ten Cubed, this program is an exceptional opportunity for teachers to gain insights about exhibition making in contemporary art galleries. Explore how artists’ intentions are supported through the curatorial process and examine how arts professionals collaborate to develop, present and promote exhibitions.

During the day participants will visit exhibitions at both a public museum (MUMA) and private gallery (Ten Cubed) and experience store-rooms at each venue to see how contemporary artworks are cared for behind-the-scenes.

Through guided tours and discussions with experts at MUMA and guest artist Peter Atkins at Ten Cubed, the program will strengthen teachers’ capacity to address the VCE Studio Arts curriculum with students.

A delicious shared lunch will be hosted by Ten Cubed offering an informal opportunity for networking with colleagues.

Whilst ideal for VCE Studio Arts teachers this program will provide valuable insights for all Visual Arts teachers.

Cost: $50 for a full day program (includes exhibition catalogue/s, education resources, lunch and refreshments)
