The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room

How much of your life have you spent waiting?
And what exactly are you waiting for?

Enigmatic Melbourne artists Camilla Hannan and Martine Corompt unite for a special one-off
immersive theatrical event in ‘The Waiting Room’, where the audience will share the joy of anticipation, the pleasure of expectation, and the thrill of impatience.

Created exclusively for the 100-year old Capitol theatre in Melbourne and evoking the feeling of an early 20th Century Picture Palace revue, The Waiting Room elaborates on the notion of waiting as a disorientating event in itself.

Blending and blurring boundaries between Ted Talk and evangelical zealotry, drenching the space with cinematic motifs and epic surround sound, The Waiting Room will redefine notions of cinema and performance. Featuring live experimental music from Melbourne quartet The Overtone Ensemble, this event also invites the audience to experience the rapturous reinvention of the seminal THX Deep Note, originally composed in 1983 by LucasFilm sound engineer James ‘Andy’ Moorer.

Join us in The Waiting Room, won’t you?

We promise this lush and mischievous evening is definitely worth the wait.
